Lascivious1,

Thanks for "springing". Happy

The firmware has been taken down, and I don't have an ETA on the new firmware release date as of yet. I don't have the v1003 or v1006 firmwares here. Be careful if someone is distributing them on the internet, as we can't guarantee they haven't been tampered with (not trying to scare you, but just a caution).

Is there a specific issue that requires a firmware with your new set?

Also, the registration site is here:

http://www.samsung.com/us/mysamsung/product/myssMyProductRegist2.do

I appreciate you purchasing a Samsung television, and if there's anything we can do to help, please let me know.

Lascivious1,

Anytime you want to check your warranty status, you can call 800-SAMSUNG and they will be able to tell you by your model and serial number.

Usually it tells you that you get 3 extra months when you register it. You might want to call and note that you registered it online, and inquire about that.

Hi,i just bought a new Samsung Le37a676 and i am having a few problems. Because the tv is normally sold in europe (mainly france) it is set to european settings. This creates problems for me because i live in england and cant access some things like the red button and teletext. My question is can i go into the engineers menu and change the country settings? Really need some help. Thanks

Lascivious1,

Regional settings, broadcast transmissions, voltage... all those things are programmed for the UK, and may cause your US set to not work properly - or worse - damage it. I strongly recommend NOT using inter-regional firmware updates (US for UK units, or vica versa).

phack1,

I don't suggest going into the service menu. I'm not sure how I'd resolve that issue, but it's not something I have knowledge on to know if there is an option with those settings in the service menu itself. France runs on a pretty isolated broadcast-set, and I don't have a way of checking what options the television might have.

Unless you know what you're doing in the service menu, I still suggest not going in there. Those who try without knowing what they're doing seem to end up causing more problems than they originally had as a result.
