Question

HD on th 42pe50b TV

Our th 42pe50b TV (about 13 years old) is described as HD ready. We only receive Freeview channels via a standard TV aerial. Does this mean we should experience HD from any of the freeview channels that broadcast in HD? If not how could we experience HD on this TV. After experiencing HD on a friend’s TV last night I can confirm that we have not experience HD on our TV.

I guess I could google that model number.

But see if the tuner is for HD or not. Maybe an external Freeview tuner is the fix.

I don't know what Hd. is in the UK, but...

here in the US, it's 720p at least. This tv is only 852X480. I believe you do have to add a digital tuner for digital reception but digital does not necessary mean HD. So it depends on what is being broadcast.
