And since there is nothing to "save" on said partition, just take XP's install menu to delete the failed partition, create it anew and install.
Bob
I tried doing a repair install on XP this past weekend after Norton IS screwed up XP on me. It wouldn't let me do a repair install but then my HD wouldn't boot up. I've had to go into the boot menus to try to reinstall XP on a 2nd HD so I can try to access the current one to move files over to reformat or to repair it. It keeps telling me the FAT is damamaged or unformated, when I'm sure it is formated, etc ocrrectly- thinking XP repair or Norton's removal tool screwed something up badly.
So right now trying to repair and retrieve my current HD with XP on a spare one. I need some advise on how I can repair the FAT or whatnot so I can get everything working right. I really want to be able to retrieve all my data from the screwy HD before I redo it, if I have to. I tried using Norton Disk Doctor and it came up with a DOS partition from the HD of 70 megs also.
Please help!
