HD downloads to Ipod

Mar 27, 2009 6:50AM PDT

I recently bought a 4th gen. Ipod Nano, and am generally pleased with it. However, I noticed that I could not download some video podcasts from Itunes to my Ipod.

When I called Apple they said that Ipods will not accept HD videos.

Will Apple be changing this in new models of the Nano or Touch? It seems ridiculous that as more video switches to HD, Apple wouldn't address this.

You had Apple on the phone, wouldn't they be the ones to know? : )

Reply no, tech support doesn't know about upcoming changes

i don't think that people who provide low level tech support have information about the plans for new models.

But, entities like CNET and others often obtain information or hear rumors about upcoming changes--thus, my reason for asking.

And why? Well, because you don't need to watch HD on such a small screen. But then what about hooking it up to TV? Well, that's what AppleTV is for. To make you buy another device.

But this is all speculation.
