Question

HD Camcorders still with wireless remote, rather than wifi?

Oct 22, 2013 8:33PM PDT

Bought a Panasonic v520, thought I had asked all questions but now find some things missing I could have done with.
The idea is, to replace an existing Canon MV-650i with an HD camera.
The use:In a church. It's normally mounted, feeding various outputs to PC for recording, TV etc. usual wireless remote is fine for zooming , and tv output stays on.
With the v520 (very nice camera, £300 from PCW) the remote control is via wifi to my smartphone (kind of ok), but, when remote control is active, with image showing on the app, the TV outputs (composite and HDMI) turn off.
Is there an alternative app to Panasonics Image App, that would just act as remote controller without image (maybe TV output would stay on), or another camera/camcorder that would suit the purpose with normal remote control.
your help very much appreciated

BTW if you have a Panasonic v5xx camcorder, the AV lead for it (available from Maplin) has to be the Sanyo one, the Panasonic one doesn't work
