HD (ATSC actually) reception reviews?

by punterjoe / October 23, 2007 4:33 AM PDT

I've been browsing reviews of HDTVs & found little if any coverage of Over The Air performance. Are there any metrics for this? Some standard against which everything can be measured? I live in a really hostile reception area, and OTA reception reviews are a critical issue to me. Is there any accepted standard measure of reception sensitivity/robustness?

OK, you live in a hostile reception area.

I think that factor is of higher relative importance than the nearly never heard of reviews with OTA reception by that model as a factor. Perhaps someone can correct me if I am in ignorance.

In any event the basic info available @ may enlighten you about your relative antenna reception prospects. Don't be put off by the filling in the blanks of personal info. I've been there several times & just opt out of requests for further contact. I have never been contacted by them.

As to pertinent metrics, just Google & there are firms in that sort of business but apparently there are focused on commercial reception not the homeowner level.

Digital is not analog. . .

With a weak analog signal (hostile reception area), you get show, fuzz, static, noise, etc. With digital it'll either work or it won't. Get a good external antenna.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
