As you found out you replace the motherboard so the simple issue and question is:
Is it worth it?
Only you can answer that question. There are many that think that laptops should be long life devices but this is untrue. Examples are now abundant so if you need something with longevity why not go back to a desktop?

I have got HCL Y20 AMD Turion 64 bit Dual Core based having Nvidia graphics laptop, after some 2 years it just stopped working, I gave it to the repair shop and the guy there told me it is a common problem with Nvidia based machines and motherboard is not working and not repairable.
Also the drivers for windows 7 is not available, and on the website also the model is not listed.
What to do with this laptop ?
I am going to buy a new laptop now.
Should I avoid, AMD, Nvidia, HCL for a new laptop ?
Please recommend me the solution.
Thanks,
