Having trouble clearing space on recovery(D:) for backup

by rockstar60 / April 18, 2013 9:40 PM PDT

I've followed all the usual prompts and not even backing up music. Finally just compressed the file. Is this a bad thing or adequate resolution?

Re: backup on recovery drive

That's a bad idea. The recovery drive is for the system, not for you. And since it's the same physical drive, it doesn't protect against disk failures.

Backing up should be done to another device (another PC, external disk, on-line storage, USB-stick, DVD).

Pardon my ignorance but to clarify. I shouldn't be backing up on D in the first place which could ultimately render the backup useless.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
