Having to log on to IE twice?

Oct 4, 2004 2:50AM PDT

I am using Windows ME, 4.90..3000 and Internet Explorer 6.0.2800.1106 SP1, After I connect to the internet then double click the I.E icon I get a blank page with the task bars, but no writing or icons on it and the computer locks up, also there are no error messages. I use control-alt-delete and "END TASK' on the message which says my home page is not responding. When I double click the I.E. icon again it works fine and I can browse the web with no problems. My computer has a 633Mhz Intel Celeron processer and has 256k of Ram. Anyone know how to fix the problem?

Thanks for the reply. I'm using McAfee anti virus and I've done numerous scans but never had a virus. I'll try IEFIX on Google.

Pest control. What your antivirus doesn't see.
