I have a homegroup now, so it works fine. I did it myself.
Hi,
While you read this, please keep in mind that I am completely new to servers and networking, so please do not use sophisticated language, because I am still learning. Please also keep in mind that I do not have a domain, nor do I intend to purchase one. Please also keep in mind that I am not purchasing any items in this process. Lastly, please keep in mind that if the solution has to do with hardware, I will not want to do it. So please make the solution software only.
Okay, here is my question:
I have one PC in my house that is connected to the Internet using an Ethernet cable, and three PCs connected to the Internet via Wireless. I also have a Windows Server computer in my house. It has Windows Server 2008 R2 on it. I have purchased my copy online, and will not purchase anything else. I would like all of the computers to have the same user accounts on them as the PC downstairs that has the ethernet cable. Even though I have no domain, I am wondering if somehow I could use my Windows Server to connect all of the PCs together, including the Ethernet one. Is this possible?
Thanks in advance.
