Well, checking my cable company's listing, it seems that they only allow 4:3 viewing, so by checking 16:9 it gives it a little more depth but they are in effect what is providing the bars on the sides, so that's why the wide fit doesn't work I guess.
I'll call them direct and see if it will at any point be enabled.
Hi there, I just signed on to the forums (which I've read but haven't posted on before now) because my Samsung LN-T4661F 46" LCD tv is set on certain settings (all inputs save coax cable for antenna) it does not display in the Wide Fit ability, to the extent that there is a 6" black border around screen and it does not fill the screen. The antenna cable input does (Wide Fit mode), but the Wide Fit mode is disabled for all other sources, and this option was clearly available when I first got the TV and activated it.
Is there a way to enable settings on the various menus which are disabled? Is there a way to re-set the tv so that you could start from scratch? I haven't yet found such a possibility on the internet.
Thanks very much.
