Having a few problems

Dec 24, 2007 4:34AM PST

that only happen on Cnet. I use the Google spell checker and it has problems on this site. Also my Yahoo spell checker has problems and the keyboard space bar often deletes whole words when it's used here while spell checking. Please repair.

Just wondering.

Do you run a Windows OS? If so, which version?

Even when I ran WMe, it had a spell check built in that worked with Google, Yahoo, CNet, etc.

If so, I suggest you go to the appropriate Windows Help forum to post your problem there.

Good luck!

That is a problem that should be addressed to ...

the publisher of the spell checker (Google or Yahoo) as it is their responsibility for making an app compatible.

In this case however I assume the problem might be local to you as I have no problems with the Google spell check and do not use Yahoo. Possibly your two BHOs are conflicting with each other - might try uninstalling yahoo.

I think this is a Cnet problem

As I've said it works fine everywhere but here.

Could be a compatibility problem with IE7 or Google software

less of a problem with Yahoo software. You might contact Jive for a responce.

Examples.

I find it strange that you are informed others have experienced no problems with CNET and the Google spell checker, but you insist the fault is with CNET.

You give no examples. How does this fault manifest itself? You mention the space bar whilst using Yahoo's spell checker. How does that work, does using the space bar delete the word before the space bar or after? Why would the space bar be used when correcting a spelling error?

What testing have you done? You now say that the issue could be a compatibility problem with IE7 or the Google software. How did you arrive at that conclusion? Did you test with another browser? If so which one?

You mention faults with both the Google spell checker and with Yahoo's spell checker. If this is just in IE, perhaps this is a conflict with their respective BHO's installed in IE. I notice that has already been suggested.
