Clarification Request
Is it just for one room, an area of the house,

or entire house?

Get a fish tank instead

How much humidity do you need? You can go around with a misting bottle and mist the air from time to time. Those cool humidifiers get mold in them.

How to choose dehumidifier

basically selection of dehumidifier depends on place means size of dehumidifier is depends on amount of moisture extracted from the air in certain time period.

Can consider room condition.

If your home is located in a humid climate, add 10 pints. (pints is measuring unit of moisture)

If your home is located in a normal climate, add 5 pints.

Basically a dehumidifier reduces the level of humidity in the air. There are 2 important thing you should know the select the right humidifier i.e Capacity of dehumidifier and the volume of air flow.
For more queries asking the shop for advice is a good option.

There are also not so expensive dehumidifiers

Not a very important appliance for home but if the humidity level is higher than 60% (Optional is between 30 and 50 percent) than you should consider buying one.
I can't suggest one model but should look at the few things first:
1. Choosing the right size. Don't buy the most powerful and don't buy weak ones.
2. Noise level
3. Features (auto mode, timer, various speeds etc)
4. Fan operation continuously or only when dehumidifying.
5. Is maintenance hard or easy?
Good luck!

Dehumidifiers improves home living.

Dehumidifier works best where there is extra moisture and you want to get rid of it. Dehumidifier comes in many sizes. You should choose according to size of room.

Advantages of using Dehumidifiers

Mini Dehumidifier works best because even if your room i big enough you may not have space to place the big dehumidifier unit. It also allows you to target specific problem areas in your house as you might have specific concerns like a badly ventilated bathroom or a moisture problem in your kitchen.

Get rid of Allergies - When humidity gets decreased, the risk of allergies automatically gets decreased.

Get away from mold - Mold loves to grow in a moist environment, so if you are having trouble with this in certain areas of your house, it is worth getting a mini-dehumidifier.

You will u feel uncomfortable and mood of frustration will most likely gets build up when humidity is there in home. But dehumidifiers gets the job done.
