In the Ford and Chevy lines of this and other makers I can write that nothing much has been done to have me write there has been a step up in quality. These consumer laptops seem to be great values with 2 to 4 year expected life spans. The prices are great but some will be taken aback when something that seems minor breaks and they discover out of warranty repairs to hit about half the price of new.
Nothing new here. Think Ford or Chevy quality.
Gateway laptops had a bad rap a couple of years ago, but now I'm eyeing this laptop: (http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?afsrc=1&EdpNo=6241357&sku=G180-17010&SRCCODE=LINKSHARE&cm_mmc_o=-ddCjC1bELltzywCjC-d2CjCdwwp&AffiliateID=lw9MynSeamY-L.zxvChvBa.p.bO.V17M_w)
All of the specs seem great except the mediocre CPU, but the price makes it a great value at 661 (after Bing Cash Back). How are gateway laptops nowadays and should I jump on this or not?
