Have a computer password unknown how can i access

I was trying to help a neighbour with accessing a mac mini.

It was there partners computer but unfortunately they passed away and they don't know what the password is to access the computer.

It seems to be running Lion. I tried to reset the compute to factory settings but it still needs the password to do this.

Is there any way I can get around the password issue?
