Hate Cyberlink Director, is Pinnacle better?

Hi I do home movies and had some Cornish things I filmed. Because I hadn't used Cyberlink Director for a while because of having to do other things. The files now won't work properly, and I get an message saying " an error occurred while trying to open this file". I can't find copies on Picture Motion browser, so now I have lost some valuable memories because of this stupid software.

I am fed up with Cyberlink because it still crashes occasionally. and would like to know if Pinnacle Studio is better?

I wanted Pinnacle Studio HD v15, but it's unavailable on Amazon. What is the latest one please?

Anyone other Pinnacle users on here? Many thanks.
