by R. Proffitt Forum moderator / November 10, 2005 2:29 AM PST

Sorry to start another thread, but after all the good bruhaha I'm waiting to see if anyone is check Sony laptops and PCs for this rootkit.

And since the same can be done to DVDs, would they dare?

When a large company like Sony

Starts to implant hostile programs into your computor without express consent. It is time to boycott all products from that company. I own so much Sony ****, that I am in deep regret of all the profit that they have made off of me. They will never make another penny off of me. Anyone who doesn't, betrays only themselves because a trojan has already been discovered that allows hackers full reign over your computor. Only Computor Associates is treating this threat as a hostile virus.

AnyDVD tackles Sony DRM Rootkit Virus!

If AnyDVD is installed and active on your PC, the new so-called "Sony DRM Rootkit Virus" has no access to your system and the affected audio CD appears unprotected regardless!

An endless fight... good and evil.

My little nightmare began
by mrobzo / November 24, 2005 4:51 AM PST

When I bid on a few Sony mini disc players. The price was so low, I couldn't resist. I won two bids off of Ubid. They were delivered in short order for about$179.00 including shipping. What I didn't know was that a refurbished Sony will never work on another computor. They only sell the rights once and from there on in, I couldn't figure out why it wouldn't work. Does anyone care to speculate on my stupidity regarding DRM and me?

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
