Region 1 and NTSC is what I need.
In any case, thank you JP!
I've been "all over" the net and still haven't found it.
I might as well try with "Evergreen Video" @ Carmine Street. They have plenty of movies and especially idependent stuff. However, I wanted to buy it!
been threatening to get dvd for a couple of years, just waiting for vcr to break.
If a person wanted a dvd from another region or format it seems like it is not much of a problem
a new one costs over $100, guess who ain't watching videos ![]()

I've seen them in the US for less than $80.00. Course, I don't know about the exchange rate and taxes where your at. Could be all the difference. Do you use 110 voltage there? I could send you one.
i just did a quick check online and a VCR, 2 heads, LP, auto-clean is $87+/-
a DVD/VCR combo is about $155+/-
thanks for the offer grim, but as you say, exchange rates/taxes (and we're 220V

I don't know if this is still true today but a few years ago, when I still sold consumer electronics here in the US, many LCD TV's could be switched from NTSC to PAL. Also, many cheaper DVD players can be switched to output PAL in their menu as well. I saw many DVD players brought in because they were "broke" when the reality was someone kicked the player into PAL mode which has a different frame rate than NTSC.
Nether of these facts, if still true, will help Terry with the World DVD Region codes however.
