Has anyone noticed serious problems within Vista?

Jul 2, 2007 3:44AM PDT

I bought and installed Vista on my machine and used it 3 weeks before dumping it.
Some of my programs that ran fine the initial week started hanging and wouldn't run.
The final straw came when Windows media player quit running altogether. I tried downloading v.11 to reinstall, windows wouldn't let it run because there was newer version already installed. Researched the subject on the net to no avail. I certainly didn't want to perform a re-install 3 weeks after initially installing it. I now have friend who cannot access system files because Windows explorer won't start.
This is a 4 month old install. Everything I have read about this one points to a re-install. Anyone else having these problems with Vista?

Hope Microsoft quits Vista.

I wonder if I can get my money back from Walmart since I bought the premium Vista for $156. and used it three days. What a terrible OS.
Stupid me also bought an OEM version that will forever lay in a drawer since I wouldn't wish it on anyone. Another $82. down the drain.

No returns once it's been opened...

The policy on software, including Windows Vista, is that there are absolutely no returns once the packaging has been opened. The only option is an exchange for the same item in the case of a damaged DVD. That leaves reselling it on Ebay or other such services. As to the OEM copy, you could return it if it hasn't been opened yet and the store doesn't have a 'no returns' policy.
