but from what I've seen, if you have any experience with a MIG, it shouldn't be that difficult.
All you need is compressed air and a 220V source and you're in business.
You can literally write your name in sheet metal as fast as you can move your hand and it produces very little slag.You can dial in a very fine arc for accurate work too.
It takes some practice to learn the amperage setting and cutting speeds but I found it easy.The plasma torch will cut aluminum and stainless which an Oxy torch won't do.
The only thing it won't do is cut metal over an inch thick.
I have not used a plasma torch. I have treated patients for ultraviolet burns as a result of their use of plasma torches. You have to use the same eye protection and such as you would with any other type of welding unit.
I cannot comment on how easy or hard it is to use.
