Harrassing Email

Mar 31, 2005 11:21PM PST

Harrassing email is being sent to our neighborhood association members. The messages are sent from Gmail with an address prefix that is similar to that of our association. We have received several phone calls asking to be removed from the list . . . some got a little threatening. However it is not our list. I've contacted Gmail and got very little help. Can someone tell me the best source for help with this problem? Can someone tell me where I can find information about how to read email source pages?

In your association letter, headline or topline the issue and send it out with your next postal mailing.

SPAMCOP

The free spamcop does just fine. No need for the free-trial or pro version. Report this spam as soon as you get it, every time. The spam will be reported to the senders ISP.

If a reputable ISP...After a few reports they usually send the culprit a warning. After a handful of reports on the same culprit they will usually drop them. If the emails are threatening in nature they may report the sender to law enforcement.

Harassing/threatening email can also be reported to local law enforcemen.
