The move up may be minimal. The GPU I start with is the usual Nvidia 1050 Ti or higher.
SSD will be very nice and for Linux 4 or more GB RAM. This see how it performs.
My father just gave me his old DX-4300-15e, and I'm planning on installing Linux on it as well as a few hardware upgrades. Everything other than the ssd hard drive is original. What I'm looking for is a middle-ground compatible graphics card, an upgrade from the 2.6 GHz Phenom II x4 810 processor (AM3 socket), a compatible air-cooled heatsink or liquid cooler, and an upgraded case fan. (approx. 90mm, my measurement might have been wrong)
It was cheap, it lasted ten years and two moves, But it desperately needs some love. So what would be my best options for upgrades?
