hardware for CAD/solidworks

Hey guys,

I recently started college doing mechanical engineering and i need to buy a pc for home and i dont know what sort of hardware im going to need to run CAD/solidworks effectivly.

Any advice/ideas??

btw. can anyone recommend a good brand of pc??

get what's recommended by your college

a core i5 based laptop would probably be a very good choice.
