The wiring on many front ports was often iffy and as time goes on you see them fail. I never suggest fixing those but to put in some USB hub that we velcro to the case for ease of access.
I have 4 USB 2.0 ports and 2 USB 3.0 ports on a desktop PC running Windows 7 Pro. The 2 USB 2.0 ports in the front of the PC have stopped recognizing drives. The 2 ports in the rear of the tower seem fine. The PC will recognize drives when plugged into the 3.0 ports. I'm not sure this is a hardware issue since 2 ports quit at the same time. Any ideas?
