Question

Harddrive uhhhhh

Jun 6, 2019 7:09PM PDT

So I had this old computer sitting around for a while and I decided to take out the hard drive and see what's on it. I finally got around to buying an enclosure and when I first hooked it up it took me forever to finally get ahold of the files. But as I would try and do something with them they would no longer be accessible and the computer would lose connection with the hard drive. I gave up. Flash forward and I try it again and now when I boot it up the hard drive runs well, then makes some sounds, then shuts off. I'm not sure what's wrong with it and I could really use those files. Is it dead? Can I fix it?
