Unlikely that WD will warrant the drive outside of Dell's warranty, and the recovery options depend on how the drive failed.
I recently had a harddrive failure on my Dell Vostro ( built 2/08 ). It uses a 160 GB 7200rpm Western Digital HD. Dell says they only cover for a 1 year warrantee but I will contact WD to see if they warrantee separately. My questions:
1) If WD will not warrantee the HD what is the preferred replacement?
2) Is there any chance to get back data if I install a second HD in the backup Bay and try to access the original HD?
