Hard Drives

I have a question to ask concerning hard drives....Are sata hard drives interchangable ? If i have an Hp desktop and a Compaq HP desktop will the sata hard drive in the HP fit the Compaq PC ?

For the most part yes.

But the OS would have to be reinstalled if you swap the drive that has the OS on it.

you can change out harddrives but you will have to reinstall the operating system unless you are just installing it for extra storage. if the os came wtih the computer, It would be oem and can never be transfer to another computer.
