Hard drive usage

by dixitn / April 11, 2006 10:30 AM PDT

When I look at my local drive under explore it tells me that I have about 14 G of disk space left. Is there any utility that will tell me which application is using the " used *** space". i would like to see which if any I can get rid of.
I am running under Windows XP SP1

I use the free program TreeSize to point out which files/folders are taking up the most space. As the screenshot on their site shows, it scans the drive, then sorts the root directories in order of size. Just expand any one for a detailed breakdown of the subdirectories, following the red bars until you find the biggest eaters, then see if you can curb their appetite.

Hope this helps,
John
