Hard Drive upgrade for Xbox Arcade

Jan 25, 2010 7:09AM PST

I wanted to know if it was possible to install a hard drive into an Xbox 360 Arcade. If possible what type of formating would it need.

Thank you, Zerstoren

Yes, but you have to buy one of Microsoft's hard drive packages. The Xbox 360 uses an external laptop hard drive with a special firmware, that is contained in a snap on shell with a proprietary connector.

So you're stuck using whatever Microsoft sells. The PS3 can accept just about any 2.5" SATA hard drive.
