hard drive testing

by Disneyfan / February 14, 2007 11:25 PM PST

I have a computer service business that I started over a year ago that I run out of my house. One thing that I don't have it some diagnostic utility to test hard drives. When a customer suspects that their hard drive is going bad, I'm not really sure how to check that out. Is there some utility that can be used for this purpose? Suggestions? Thanks.

Like Bob said...each HDD mfg has free diagnostic SW to test their HDDs available on their repsective WEBSITES. It's must have software.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
