I guess I should also say what I would be using the drive for. It would mostly be used for video/audio/photo editing.
Also, possibly on my new machine I might use it as my primary drive if it will speed up the boot.
Does anyone have any comments on going with a 10,000 rpm drive over a 7,200 rpm drive? How big of a performance increase will I get? Is it worth the extra cost?
Also are SATA 1.5 and SATA 3.0 drives compatible interchangeably? Like can I put a 1.5 drive on a 3.0 controller and a 3.0 drive on a 1.5 controller?
Sometime in the next 15 months I will be building myself a new computer so I would like me drives to be able to transfer over if possible.
