Hard drive question???

by Travelingpreacher / February 28, 2007 10:04 PM PST

I bought a new hard drive of 320 GB memory. After installing OS and software, I noticed the information conflicted with my understanding of 320 GB. The BIOS setup does indicate that the drive is 320 GB space. However, within the software there is the indication that I have used 87 GB of 127 GB space. Where is the remainder? And, how do I get the full access and use of the rest of the drive memory? Thanks, RAJones

137GB is a common barrier. It has to do with the amount of data the hard drive controller can access.

Upgrading to xp will solve the problem. Or you can format the disk into 3x106.2 gb drives...

Yes, I had XP when I bought the drive. Currently I am running Vista. I became aware of this discrepancy when I installed Vista Ultimate. Thanks

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
