Hard drive problem?

Oct 17, 2012 12:38PM PDT

So I order this new desktop I just got today, it is suppose to have a 2TB SATA drive, but when I go into computer on the home menu only my C: drive is a 55GB ssd drive or something along those lines? I went into computer properties and viewed all of my hard drives it recodnizes I have the 2tb one but it said it was't working and now it says it is how do I set it so I can use it.

Answer
Sounds more like an OS install issue.

I'm guessing you have a boot SSD so for the 2TB drive did you or the person who made this beast partition and format the 2TB drive?

Also, why did they pick such a small SSD for the boot drive? You may want to remove that and just use the 2TB drive rather than learn why I'm asking.

This is when many folk discover they have to learn more about Windows. I dropped a hint you may have to partition and format the 2TB drive for it to show in Windows Explorer. Your replies sound as if this is your first PC.

- "It is supposed to have the disk, but it says it isn't working." So back to the shop and ask them to fix it under warranty.
- "But now it says it is, but I can't use it". Why can't you use it?

To have such an issue is NOT good. You also state its a Cyperpower PC, return it and get your money back. Don't allow them to drag their feet because they have such a poor service record. Do this NOW before bill is due(credit card?) .

There is no reason for that 2Tb not to work, it's suppose to be up and running and be available. You have been warned. Check the BBB and find comments on Cyperpower.
