Seems it has to do with Sata drives and the way system is set up.
New Vista machine, from a new builder for me. Had a few problems, video card, music stuttering, etc. Took it back to troubleshoot. When I get it back I notice that there is now a "safely remove hardware" icon in sys tray. I've only seen this before with my IPOD. When I look at it, it's the main hard drive. Huh?? In Device Manger it originally was listed as:
WDC WD1600AAJS-00PSA0
Now it's listed as:
WDC WD1600AAJS-00PSA0 (many spaces here) WD-WMAP9212979605.06H05
Huh?
So I take it back and what do they do? They hide inactive icons, so it doesn't appear in the sys tray. Gimme a break! All I need is for this to be inadvertently removed.
Any thoughts? Thanks.
