Resolved Question

Hard drive full message

Jun 3, 2014 9:45PM PDT

I did a transfer today, from D: drive to C: and I got a message that "the C: is full" and I couldn't continue the operation. Due to a previous task with Photoshop I came across the same incident and after a research on the web the best solution was to delete "Temp files" folder which I did. The disk wasn't as "cleaned" as I expected though. I just use a C: just for Program Files and nothing else. The C: is 60Gb and is impossible for me to have loaded so much. Anyway the problem still exists because once again the "Temp Files" folder was full. Why C: gets full so quickly even though the last time I deleted "Temp Files" folder was just four days ago ?

You shouldn't delete the folder, just the contents of the folder.

We don't know what files are written to that temp folder. Some malware programs might do it, and some regular programs might do it in exceptional situations. If you don't tell the details, nobody can tell.

- Use Treesize Free from JAM software (free download) to see how much disk space is used by all folders and subfolders.
- Use the disc cleanup wizard that comes with Windows to delete more temp files.

temp files

I am sorry, I should have mentioned the files inside the "Temp Files" folder. It seems that virtual machines, that I have installed, get a lot of space something that I didn't know.

that is larger than 4 GB that can create another problem.
