Hard drive died

Hi!

My maxtor hard drive died unexpextedly. when I poweron the system, the hard drive just clicks regularly.

Is there anyting I can do to retrieve my data?

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated...

you can't do anything yourself. But for 1000 bucks or so some professonial data recovery companies might be able to get everything off.

Some people spend time and money on backups. Some prefer to spend it on recovery. What's your choice?
