Is it possible to create a hard drive shortcut on the desktop with a capacity bar similar to that shown in "My PC" window.

Yes.

But I'm taking your question verbatim. That is you wrote "create." I'm a programmer and it is indeed possible to create such a thing. Creating to me is writing code.

What should that shortcut do? A shortcut opens something.

And please realize that a PC can have more than one hard disk. Should that shortcut show the capacities of all disks, or would you like to have the option to choose which disk and have more than one such shortcut on your desktop? Also for USB-sticks, SD-cards, external hard disks, CD/DVD-drives?

If you know all that, somebody should be able to program it for you. I don't think it comes with Windows 10 currently.
