Go to start Accessories. Go to system Tools go to desk cleanup. Try to clean up as much as you can. Also try to remove any program that you do not need.
Also remove any programs that you do not use.
IF you have the recovery/restore CD with your laptop. You can try to restore your laptop to the factory settings. you will have to back up any information that you need to keep to your external hard-drive. It might do the trick.
Personally I use a program call CCleaner to remove non-needed/temporary files on my Laptop to recover space.
Hopefully someone here can help. I'm not a computer illiterate, but my knowledge is limited. I have a Toshiba laptop running Vista and Internet Explorer.
6 months ago I went to work in New Zealand for 4 months. While there I noticed that I only had 5 gigabytes free on my 150 Gb hard drive. A friend told me i could free up some space using Iobit 360. It did free up another 2 Gb after defragging and eliminating registry errors. My free space would keep trending down to 2 Gb, though.
In the last 2 weeks my computer has been losing free space on the hard drive VERY rapidly. I bought a 500 Gb external drive and transferred all my pics to it. That freed 1 Gb. Within a day it went down to 50 Mb.
I then started deleting software. Google toolbar, Kodak picture processing software, Google Earth, and Skype. It freed up 400 Mb. Within hours it went to ZERO.
There are now NO pics, NO videos on my computer. Only text documents. Some process is tearing through my hard drive.
I've run Windows Defender, Malware Bytes, and Spybot Search and Destroy. They found nothing.
I've eliminated all but my latest restore point.
My only vice is that I play Zynga's Farmville.
Currently running process are:
Is that "Crsss.exe" a virus and if so how do I fix this problem?
Please be as non-technical and simple as possible.
Thanks in advance for any and all help.
