Hard-Drive backup Image (*.iso) creation software?

by Bradachin / April 14, 2008 3:52 AM PDT

I had to do a full system rebuild and now that my system is fully restored, I am looking for a quality and reliable image (.iso) creation software to make a full and complete backup of my hard drive.

I have a second hard drive I am going to clone the image onto, as well as copy the image onto dvd's so I have a secondary backup file to restore my system from in case of any problems.

At work, we use Acronis True Image, and I can get a home version for $30, but as I know nothing about image creation software I am unsure what is a better option, pay for a license or free? Is there a reliable and quality free option out there? Or is pay the best choice?

My system is now winXP, and I would like to have the ability to create a boot cd for restoration of my hard drive from the dvd's if my secondary hard drive also fails (God forbid).
