ok thanks to help from someone on this site i'll be buying a sata hard drive instead of a ide one....I would just like to know which namebrand is better.

Seagate or Western Digital

A friend told me to get the western digital Hard Drive but i've seen stuff saying that the seagate is slightly better, I just want to know which is better and will last longer or is either one fine.

Here are the drives i'm looking at, they seem to be the same thing just different namebrands:

Western Digital

Same question. Get the one you can afford or flip a coin.

in question. The two drives look to be a toss up...except the Seagate has a 5 year warranty and the WS is 3 years (note there are some WDs with 5 year warranties).

This is a 640GB WD it $20 US more and twice the capacity and better buyer feedback

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
