Can I play games like Battlefied Vietnam and Medal of Honor Pacific Assault On an external Hard drive with usb/firewire without any problems like slowing down/lagging or hard drive getting over heated?

is there a way of transfering games from an external hard drive to another comptuer. so i could skip the step of installing the game to the other computer and just transfering it from the external hard drive to the other pc.

Today's Windows based games (and more) will place entries in the REGISTRY and may drop files in the Windows system directory.

Moving the hard disk will not move these entries, files to the new machine.

Just FYI. This happened about 1995 with the introduction of a new generation of Windows.

Yes, you should be able to install stuff to your external HDD, and as long as it's connected to USB 2.0, or Firewire, it should be fine.

Now, as far as transporting the game, like the other person said, some games mess with the registry, but if it's an offline game (doesn't need Internet access), then I don't see why it wouldn't work - you would just need the eHDD and game CD (or an image of the CD).
