Hard disk space

i have this wired problem on my windows XP..

I just reformat my computer and from my 14GB hard disk, i left out with 12GB,

then now, my hard disk went to 7GB, i can see the space getting low and low. within 5 mins, its went to 7.96 from 7.98 and its keep going down, but i didnt download nothing.

anyone have any idea what it mite be?

When you bought the hard drive what was the drive capacity? Harddrives don't come in 14G size. When you formatted the drive is there one partition? For example, do you just have a C drive then maybe a D drive which is the CD Rom? I know you said you didn't download anything but are you surfing the web alot? There is a paging file that takes up space and if you surf the web the contents of the web pages are being stored in the Temp internet folder so space is being used there as well.

Hey. Stop. Make your PC start via CD. First have your Windoows XP in the CD. Select the option for reformating your HD, NFST format, and reinstall Windows. You have to go to the SETUP to make yourn PC start via CD.
