Rare sunny day here in Maryland too, and warmer (50F) than it's been lately. I'm also glad a lot of stores refused to open this year on Thanksgiving. Walmart, Target, BestBuy are among the season's grinches still this year. Mall of the Americas is closed today. These are others who decided to value family time for the day.

Here are all the stores that won't be open for the holiday:

A.C. Moore
Academy Sports
American Girl
Barnes & Noble
Bed Bath & Beyond (select locations)
Big Lots
BJ's Wholesale Club
Blain's Farm & Fleet
Burlington
Cabela's
Costco
Crate and Barrel
Dillard's
Gamestop
Guitar Center
Half Price Books
Harbor Freight
HHGregg
Hobby Lobby

Black Friday chaos: Shootings reported on busy shopping day

As crowds of frantic shoppers flock to stores across the continent and abroad in search of Black Friday deals, there have been reports of shootings at both Macy's and Walmart stores, as well as a shooting at a Thanksgiving day youth football game.

Here’s a look at some of the chaos that unfolded in the U.S. Friday:
