Happy Father's Day to all Dads here!

Jun 16, 2007 11:29PM PDT

Now, you'll have to wear that tie at least once. Happy

Hope you got something you wanted.

Regardless, I suspect the best gifts are the hand made cards, ash trays (for paper clips) f, and others created by loving hands and delivered with hugs,

Don't need any more stuff!!!

So they gave me consumables, BBQ briquettes, sauce, coffee beans, etc. Nothing that I need to store.

Speaking of ties. At our church service on Mother's Day, the moms all get a single flower. Someone must have whined about the dads getting nothing. So, in keeping with the tradition of giving ties, all the dads got pictures of ties....not real ties... just the pictures. The pastor that it was a budget issue. Happy

No ties (thankfully I don't need to wear one to work)

Got two really sweet cards from my daughter and "the world's biggest crossword puzzle" (and they ain't kidding) from my wife. It could literally take years.

Wife is working today so we had Father's Day yesterday, though I suppose today really is "Father's Day" since I'm taking care of our daughter all day. Happy

For the latest photos:

Several of those shots were taken in NYC two weeks ago and yes, that's me with her in front of the Dakota.

She's really thriving here. She's playing computer games as I write this. Yesterday her Mom was out of town and it was rainy so I took her to the mall, where they have a skating rink. I figured we'd just watch like we sometimes do but she suddenly said, "I want to try it." So I replied with, "Sure, we can do that sometime" and she said, "No, I mean I want to try it now."

Next thing I knew we were wearing ice skates. I was more worried about myself splitting my head open than her but we both managed to stay on our feet. I hadn't done that since I was a teenager and she did pretty well for a first-timer.
