Canada Day marks the creation of the Dominion of Canada through the British North America Act on July 1, 1867, uniting three British colonies?the provinces of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Canada. The three colonies united to form one country divided into four provinces. The Province of Canada became Ontario and Quebec (see Canadian Confederation).

The fireworks, parades, and (hopefully) the day off.

Good attitude

Some people are happy because they have two dollars in their pocket when, yesterday, they had only one. Some will say they should be sad because most people have at least three dollars and some even have four. To some people, a walk to the park and some fresh air are a joy. But some think these people should be sad because they can't afford to fly to Paris and shop. I'd say, if they're happy with the two bucks and the smell of a few flowers, why try to convince them they should be miserable?

Many are happy or sad about other things

Not getting your point here

I'm just noting that sad and happy are relative emotions. We exercise control over our own but can't define where the happy/sad threshold should be for others...and we need to keep that in perspective when we try to end poverty and save the world....lest we create a bigger monster than what we have already made.
