it is copying a lot more than you see

open a webpage and then go to View (in the menu bar) then source.

This is all of the source code to the webpage (which copying is a violation of copyright laws).

Depending on (primaraly) how the page was written, when you make your selection and then copy your selection, much of this code (to keep it simple) is copied into your clipboard as well.

When you paste it into Word, Word uncodes it and displays it as you see it into a Word document. How the page is written determines how fast Word can 'rewrite' what you have copied.

Dear Hawkeye,

Thanks for your help.

I understand that is copying the page which is a whole stack of html, but what is confusing me is that I used to be able to just copy. It would take a while but eventually what I was copying would appear. Now however it just hangs ? even when I attempt to just copy the text areas.

I tried your workaround and all that happened was that I copied the source code into word. However I then copied it into my html editor, and then cut and paste the necessary text. Longer than I wanted but it works.

Hope you are keeping well,

All the Best
