Handheld Compatibility

May 1, 2005 10:02AM PDT

I am ordering a amd64 desktop to take advantage of next years big OS change over to 64 bit. Does that mean if I buy a handheld today it will not work with the 64bit OS? Programs like outlook, word, etc, will you not be able to sync the two devices?
Do I just need to wait until next year to buy a PDA?

Thanks for the help.

My r3000 AMD 64-bit and OS didn't need a new version of Outlook that came with the PDA. XP-64 runs the 32-bit software just fine.

So no...

Thanks, but what about when all those programs are written in 64 bit when (I think its going to be called longhorn????) comes out?

Odd.

Since XP64 is out now, why would I wait for Longhorn?

As to new 64-bit apps, I can't imagine Outlook gaining anything from such. My advice is to use the supplied version on XP64.
