Question

"Hand-me-down" mac migration

My father has given me his 27" iMac. I want to keep/archive his stuff, but migrate from my old 24" iMac. Any suggestions?

Answer
Why not?

Why not create a new user account then restore your stuff from backup as you see fit?

His old account can be dealt with as time permits.
