Halo Effect? Normal?

Mar 15, 2009 1:42PM PDT

I'm wondering if my TV has a defect, or if all Samsung ln52a750s have this issue. Here's the deal: Because the inside of the TV's bezel is reflective, it creates the illusion that a thin black line runs through the picture near the left and right edges of the screen. Is this what the term "Halo Effect" refers to? I've had the TV for a couple of weeks now, and except for this one issue, I really love it. Here's a picture of what I'm talking about:

Thanks for your help.

jhawkmike,

What you described best illustrates the issue you're seeing. If you'd like, we could have a tech come out and replace the bezel with a part that would dampen the reflection from the sides of the unit.

I have seen mixed results from the fix, but it's an option you might want to consider.

Keep me posted.

Thanks. It's worth a try. I'll let you know how it turns out.
