Haiti relief and the IRS

An interesting twist on contributions for Haiti relief. US filers who itemize deductions can claim some contributions for Haiti relief work on their 2009 tax forms instead of taking the deduction next year:

As always, check with your tax resources before taking anybody's word about tax issues. Still, it looks like something to be aware of.

Good for Haitians working...

...here in the US who are trying to help back home. Thankfully a Haitian family at church lost none of their relatives during the earthquake, but going through all the same hardships in finding food and water now as everyone else.
